After Female body urination in flight Air India passenger arrested

The accused passenger has been arrested six weeks after he urinated on a female passenger on an Air India flight. A team of Delhi Police arrested him from Bengaluru, Karnataka on Friday night. According to NDTV report citing relevant sources, Shankar Mishra was brought to the capital New Delhi after his arrest.

Later Air India authorities did not take any legal action against Shankar Mishra. However, he was banned from Air India for a month. At one stage, the matter came to light when the woman made a written complaint to Air India Group Chairman N Chandrasekaran. This week, Air India lodged a complaint with the police about the incident.

Meanwhile, US financial services company Wells Fargo fired Shankar Mishra. The company has also commented that the allegations against him are ‘extremely embarrassing’. Wells Fargo is headquartered in California. Shankar Mishra was working as the Vice President of the India branch of the multinational company.

Air India explains Female body urination in flight

Air India has given reasons for not taking legal action against the person accused of urinating on the body of a female passenger. They explained this to the Civil Aviation Authority of India on Thursday. It said that the woman passenger applied to withdraw the complaint after a compromise was reached between the two parties. Because of this, no complaint was made to the law enforcement agencies.

On November 26, a woman passenger was sitting next to the accused on an Air India flight from New York to Delhi. Both were traveling in business class. After meals the lights on the aircraft are dimmed. At that time, the accused person urinated on the body of the woman sitting next to him. The woman is 70 years old.

The victim complained to the crew about it. He said that his clothes, shoes and bag were wet with urine. The crew gave the female passenger a set of clothes and slippers. When the incident came to light, the Directorate General of Civil Aviation issued a notice to Air India, the operator of the flight. Air India responded to the notice on Thursday. It details what happened on the flight from New York to Delhi on November 26.

Shankar Mishra, banned from flying

Air India’s letter, without disclosing the name of the accused male passenger, said the person will not be able to travel on Air India flights for one month due to indecent behavior. Apart from this, an internal inquiry committee has been formed into the incident, the report of which will be published soon.

In response to the notice, Air India also said that the inquiry committee has conducted preliminary hearing after obtaining the necessary documents. The next date of hearing has been fixed on January 10. Earlier, the accused was asked to prepare more documents.

A senior official of the Directorate General of Civil Aviation said that they are monitoring the steps taken by Air India. In this incident, Palan Police Station of Delhi has registered a case in this incident. On the other hand, the aviation authority has refunded the air fare to the aggrieved female passenger.
