Twelve people have been taken into custody following an alleged right-wing terror threat aimed at the UK Ijtima event held at Shrubland Hall in Barham, Suffolk. The gathering, which had thousands of attendees over the weekend, was brought to an early conclusion on Sunday as a precautionary measure following the discovery of a potential threat.

Commander Helen Flanagan, who leads Counter Terrorism Policing (CTP) London, stated that officers acted swiftly to conduct arrests across multiple locations throughout the country. Authorities initially declared a major incident upon learning of the "potential serious threat" against the event, though that status has since been stood down. A police presence remains at the scene at Shrubland Hall.

The breakdown of the arrests includes eight men who were detained under section 41 of the Terrorism Act 2000; they remain in custody. Additionally, three other men were arrested on suspicion of conspiracy to murder, and a woman was arrested on suspicion of assisting an offender. Of the four individuals in this second group, one has been released on bail, while the other three continue to be held by police.
