David serves as a Race and Justice correspondent for Reuters, where his reporting examines the multifaceted impact of policy, legislation, and politics on individuals across diverse identities. In his current role for 2026, he is dedicated to analyzing how 250 various Latino communities across the United States perceive their standing within American culture and how these perspectives influence their participation in the midterm elections.

His professional background includes a tenure at Bloomberg Industry Group, where he specialized in state and corporate taxation, with a particular emphasis on equity within the tax code. During his time on the Bloomberg Law desk, David provided coverage of the anti-environmental, social, and governance (ESG) movement that served as a foundation for Donald Trump’s return to the White House over a two-year period.

Beyond his focus on fiscal policy, David spent eight years reporting on Congress, covering financial and fiscal regulations, as well as legislation, always maintaining a focus on systemic justice and inequality. A native of the Central Coast of California and the son of Latino immigrants, David also maintains a personal interest in the culinary and cultural traditions of Mexico, including salsa dancing and regional cooking.
