2026 Emmy Award Nominations Revealed Ahead of September Ceremony

The 2026 Emmy nominations were officially unveiled on Wednesday, July 8, setting the stage for the 78th Primetime Emmy Awards. With the industry's biggest night just two months away, the announcements were made via a live stream on the official Emmys website, featuring presenters Liza Colón-Zayas of "The Bear" and Jeff Hiller from "Widow's Bay."

Before the main announcement, the "Today" show highlighted contenders in the outstanding variety series and outstanding reality competition program categories. Notably, "The Late Show with Stephen Colbert" secured a nomination in the variety series category, despite the CBS program officially concluding its run this past May. The show previously enjoyed success at last year's ceremony, winning two statuettes for outstanding talk series and outstanding directing for a variety series.

The awards ceremony is scheduled for September 14 at 8 p.m. ET/5 p.m. PT. It will take place at the Peacock Theater in Los Angeles and will be broadcast live on NBC and Peacock. It was recently confirmed on July 7 that Mariska Hargitay, the Emmy-winning star of "Law & Order: SVU," will host the event.
