Actor Tom Holland has once again referred to Zendaya as his "wife," further fueling speculation and seemingly confirming their marriage during a recent podcast appearance.
While appearing on the U.K.-based podcast "Dish," hosted by DJ Nick Grimshaw and chef Angela Hartnett, Holland was asked who he would choose to accompany him on a holiday to Greece. He answered, "I think probably my wife would be pretty good." He then joked about the awkwardness of choosing anyone else, saying, "It would be a bit strange if I went, 'Sorry babe, I’m gonna take Matt actually.'" This was a playful nod to Matt Damon, his co-star in the newly released film The Odyssey. Grimshaw joined in on the joke, riffing on the idea of spending 10 days in Mykonos with Damon.
This comment follows a previous apparent confirmation of their marriage in June. During an interview with Esquire published on June 16, Holland addressed AI-generated wedding photos of the couple that had circulated online. When asked if he had to message family members to clarify the fake images, Holland paused and replied, "No, because they were all there."
Holland has frequently mentioned Zendaya while promoting Christopher Nolan's film The Odyssey, which stars both actors. In a joint interview with PEOPLE alongside Nolan, Damon, and Anne Hathaway, Holland shared how he consulted Zendaya before accepting the role of Telemachus—the son of Damon's Odysseus and Hathaway's Penelope. Holland recalled telling her, "I sat down with Z and was like, ‘I’ve been offered this movie.’" When she asked who was directing, he told her, "It’s the big one," referring to Nolan. Zendaya jokingly threatened him, saying, "I’ll leave you if you don’t do ‘The Odyssey’."
In another promotional interview with Wired in July, Holland was asked if Zendaya's character, Athena, had a romantic connection with Damon's Odysseus. Holland shut down the idea, joking, "No, because she’s married to me." Damon laughed and agreed, calling it a "good answer," and later noted that Athena teaches Holland's character about "true love."
The couple first met on the set of the 2017 Marvel movie Spider-Man: Homecoming, where they played Peter Parker and MJ. Their relationship was publicly confirmed in 2021. Following The Odyssey, which premiered on July 17, the pair will share the screen again in Spider-Man: Brand New Day, scheduled for release on July 30.
