Russian Ballistic Missile Strikes Kill Several in Kyiv

A series of ballistic missile strikes targeted the Ukrainian capital of Kyiv on Saturday morning, resulting in multiple casualties and significant structural damage. Kyiv Mayor Vitali Klitschko reported that at least three people have died, while another 15 individuals sustained injuries. Among those injured, at least one person remains in serious condition.

Emergency response efforts are currently underway at a residential building hit during the onslaught. According to Klitschko, the first and second floors of the structure suffered partial collapse, leaving several people trapped inside. The Kyiv military administration provided a higher death toll, stating that four people had died as a result of the overnight Russian attacks on the city.

Witnesses in the capital reported hearing more than a dozen explosions as the strikes rocked the city. In addition to the damage sustained by the residential complex, fire crews are attending to blazes at several warehouses within the city. These strikes mark a continuation of Moscow's intensified bombing campaign, which has persisted throughout recent months.

The latest escalation follows recent diplomatic activity by Ukrainian President Volodymyr Zelenskyy, who has been engaging with international leaders to secure increased support for the country's air defense capabilities. Last week, Zelenskyy held meetings with US President Donald Trump and UK Prime Minister Andy Burnham to discuss bolstering these defensive systems.

In a post on his Telegram account, the mayor added that "several people" were trapped in a residential building that was damaged during the onslaught.
