Attacks involving drones and artillery resulted in civilian deaths on both sides of the Russia-Ukraine border this past Saturday, according to local officials. In the Russian region of Bryansk, acting Governor Yegor Kovalchuk announced on Telegram that a Ukrainian drone strike targeted a car in a border village, claiming the lives of two individuals.

Reports from Russia’s Defense Ministry, as cited by local news agencies, indicated that 124 Ukrainian drones were successfully intercepted over various Russian regions during a twelve-hour window between 8 a.m. and 8 p.m. Moscow Mayor Sergei Sobyanin also released a series of updates regarding intercepted drones directed toward the capital, with Russian news agencies tallying at least 24 such incidents throughout the day.

Meanwhile, in Ukraine, Oleksandr Ganzha, the governor of the Dnipropetrovsk Region, stated that more than 40 instances of drone and artillery fire resulted in one fatality and one injury in the vicinity of Nikopol. That town, situated across the Dnipro River from the Russian-occupied Zaporizhzhia nuclear power station, has been a regular target of Russian offensives.

Additionally, Denis Pushilin, the Moscow-appointed official for the Russian-held territories in Ukraine’s Donetsk region, reported via Telegram that two people were killed following Ukrainian drone attacks that struck the cities of Horlivka and Makiivka.
