A total of eleven people have tragically lost their lives after a light civilian aircraft, which was transporting a group of skydivers, crashed in the town of Tomblaine in eastern France on Sunday. Local authorities confirmed the details of the fatal incident as rescue efforts and investigations began at the scene.
According to local officials, those who died in the crash included the pilot and ten passengers. The passenger list was comprised of five students and five instructors who were part of an organized activity. The aircraft involved in the accident was reportedly being operated by a local parachutist school at the time of the event.
Reports from local media indicated that the plane had successfully taken off from the nearby Nancy-Essey airfield just before the fatal crash occurred.
