An overnight aerial bombardment by Russia targeting Kyiv early Saturday resulted in at least 11 injuries, including one child, according to updates from Ukraine’s State Emergency Service. The assault involved a combination of missile and drone strikes, triggering explosions and fires across the capital’s Solomianskyi, Darnytskyi, and Dniprovskyi districts.
Official reports indicated that a strike in the Solomianskyi district ignited a fire at a three-story office and warehouse building. Simultaneously, a warehouse in the Dniprovskyi district was also set ablaze after being struck during the attack.
Data provided by Ukraine’s Air Force revealed that the overnight offensive utilized 10 missiles of various types—including six ballistic missiles—and 121 drones. Ukrainian air defense units reported successfully intercepting or electronically suppressing two missiles and 111 drones. Despite these efforts, the Air Force confirmed direct hits at 11 separate locations from ballistic missiles, two guided air-to-surface missiles, and seven attack drones, while falling debris from intercepted weapons caused damage at three additional sites.
Russia’s Defense Ministry stated that their forces specifically targeted drone production facilities located in Kyiv, alongside port infrastructure in Izmail and Chornomorsk within the southern Odesa region. Furthermore, the Russian ministry claimed its own air defense systems successfully destroyed 178 Ukrainian drones overnight, spanning eight Russian regions, the Russian-occupied Crimean Peninsula, and the Black and Azov seas.
