Ukrainian forces carried out strikes deep within Russian territory on Saturday, hitting facilities in the Volgograd and Vladimir regions as part of President Volodymyr Zelenskyy’s ongoing strategy to bring the war to the Russian populace and pressure Vladimir Putin into peace talks. These operations followed a massive drone assault launched by Kyiv just a day prior, which targeted a dozen Russian regions, Crimea, and maritime shipping.

President Zelenskyy confirmed via X that Ukrainian-manufactured FP-5 Flamingo missiles struck the Titan-Barrikady facility in southwestern Russia. He described the site as a significant industrial complex responsible for producing artillery systems and specialized military equipment, including components for the Iskander-M missile system’s launch platforms and transport-loading vehicles. Reports from the Telegram app indicated that the strikes triggered a fire at the plant. Regional Governor Andrei Bocharov acknowledged the attack, confirming that production facilities were damaged and at least 10 individuals were wounded and hospitalized.

Simultaneously, the SBU Security Service of Ukraine reported that drones hit a technical building at an oil pumping station in Vtorovo, located in the Vladimir region east of Moscow. This facility is owned by Transneft, the state-run pipeline giant, and serves as a critical node for fuel distribution to the Russian capital. The Kremlin has not yet issued a comment regarding this incident, which marks the second successful strike on the station within the month.

Russia countered with its own overnight strikes against at least three regions in Ukraine, resulting in two deaths and over 20 injuries. In the Dnipropetrovsk region, aerial bombs and drones struck two districts repeatedly, killing one person and injuring two others. In the northern Sumy region, a 66-year-old man died after a drone struck his home, while a broader attack in the area left 10 people injured. Furthermore, officials in the southeastern town of Zaporizhzhia reported that nine people, including two children, were wounded. Amidst these developments, the RIA news agency stated that Russian forces have successfully seized the village of Novoskeliuvate in the Dnipropetrovsk region.
